Enhancing Agricultural Efficiency

The Nostell Estate, a green site encompassing over 4000 acres of verdant fields, has recently embarked on a journey to revitalise its agricultural practices in collaboration with Tornum Ltd. Our partnership aimed to modernise operations while prioritising efficiency and sustainability.

At the heart of the project was the installation of a comprehensive grain handling plant, boasting cutting-edge features tailored to the estate’s needs.

Key components included:

30 tph Grain Dryer This vital component ensured the efficient drying of grains, even during challenging harvest seasons, such as the wet and demanding conditions experienced in 2023.

Barn Owl Ventilation application Designed to maintain optimal conditions within storage facilities, the ventilation system allows for more remote management of the process

Tornum IDC Control Software: Offering precise control and monitoring capabilities, this software ensures optimal results whilst reducing both energy and labour costs.

Skandia Elevator 60tph Handling Equipment This market leading equipment facilitates the seamless movement of grains within the facility, streamlining operations.

Double Trench Intake Optimising handling capacity, this feature enabled efficient intake of grains, ensuring smooth processing and storage.

Despite encountering challenges associated with the site’s complexities, the installation process was guided by  Tornum’s team, led by Charles and James. Their support, coupled with comprehensive explanations and site visits, ensured a smooth transition and successful integration of the new plant.

Following the installation, the estate observed significant improvements in operational efficiency and cost savings. The adoption of mains gas and a solar PV system further underscored the estate’s commitment to sustainable practices, aligning with modern agricultural standards.

Customer support throughout the project received high praise, reflecting the dedication and professionalism of Tornum’s team. Collaborative efforts between Tornum and other stakeholders contributed to the seamless execution of the project, setting a positive example for future endeavours.
